TMT Chiang Mai will hold our 2nd Muay Thai Trainer Certification Course on March 5-7th. Our facility is partnering with the Muay Thai Lert-Rit Sport Association to offer this globally accredited certification.
This course is designed as a tier-one (out of 3) certification. It is intended for intermediate level practitioners and current trainers seeking formal certification. Our goal with this course is to increase the global outreach of trainers with accurate, skillful education.
The course is 3 days long and is composed of 2 main aspects: Practical knowledge and physical demonstration.
The practical knowledge written exam covers an in-depth history of Muay Thai and Muay Boran, present day traditions and techniques, as well as basic physical education as it pertains to coaching and student recovery.
The physical examination requires students to demonstrate and teach these 3 components: 1) proper stance and striking technique of the 4 core striking categories 2) a Wai Kru of the student’s choice 3) any of the 15 fundamental master techniques of Muay Boran
The itinerary is short and action packed! Each day starts at 9am and ends at 5pm. Due to our remote location, students are encouraged to book accommodation at TMT or with our partner homestay.
